I’m excited to once again join the Country French Design group for our monthly share…this time focusing on silver! I have to say this is one of my favorite topics because I adore vintage silver…especially antique silverplate! And it doesn’t have to be from France to add that wonderful Country French look to your home!

Restoration Hardware Inspired Vintage Book Bundle
I am excited to share my latest project with you because it meets my two favorite DIY requirements…it’s a very cheap inexpensive copy of a much more expensive item and it’s frenchy! I love the look of vintage books, but they can be very costly!

Hi everyone! It's time for another edition of The Scoop! I hope you are all having a wonderful unofficial end of summer as Labor Day approaches! Here...I am squeezing in a last few wonderful minutes with the grands as school starts back.
Behind the Scenes at Confessions of a Plate Addict
I have been blogging for almost six years now, so I thought it was about time to share a little peek at what goes into the process here at Confessions of a Plate Addict! I have shared little snippets of my life that explain the path I have taken to arrive here, but I have never given you a peek inside my head…a scary thought!

Late Summer Centerpiece...Transitioning into Fall
August is now half over, school has started back and we are having, believe it or not, a few days of lower humidity here in the South! And...Labor Day will be here before you know it! The combination of these things has me beginning to think about fall! Sooooo…I decided to add a little transitional centerpiece to my dining room table.

It's been a busy week here at the Plate Addicts...getting the grands back in school and adapting to a new schedule! However, a few rainy days allowed me to finish a project that has been on the back burner...my scrapboooking paper wreath. It is super fun and easy to make! You'll find the tutorial here.
And I shared some Pottery Barn inspired projects, with just a few little nods to fall, which is rapidly approaching! Stay tuned for more!
And now, let's get this party started!
WELCOME BACK TO THE SCOOP!

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to another edition of The Scoop!
Since we last partied, it seems like all of my time has been consumed with all things home renovation at our new-to-us house. Hopefully, demo will be finished up this week and we can start putting it all back together. I've spent more hours than I can count at Lowes and running here, there and everywhere to make selections and pick up this, that and the other thing.
I can't wait until it all starts coming together so that I can share it with you!
In the meantime, I've still been puttering around my current house. Have you ever blown your own self away? That's what happened to me when the makeover of my kitchen chairs was completed.
Let's get on with it, shall we?
There are still several weeks of summer left and sunflowers are blooming everywhere around here. Priscilla made an adorable sunflower wreath and I love the black and white checked ribbon that she used.
Diane shared how she turned a vintage window into a picture frame with nautical touches.
Tracey shared a perfect recipe for the hot days of summer. Yum!
I love the makeover that Mary gave to her armoire. It looks so pretty with all of the accessories in the room.
Heather did a fantastic job on her son's room. So many wonderful elements!
Now, let's see what you've been up to!

Easy Scrapbooking Paper Wreath
We’ve had several rainy days and I have finally had a chance to finish a project that has been cooking in my brain for a while…my scrapbooking paper wreath! It is super easy to do..and the fun part is that you could use any paper that matches the season!
As usual, my staff seems to have left me to work alone. Our CEO Miss Ozzie is particularly relaxed, so I won’t disturb her!
Here’s what you will need:
When the cones have all been added, complete the wreath with a burlap rose in a coordinating color. You will find a tutorial for making the rose here. Finish your wreath by hot gluing a loop of jute twine to the back.
And…taaa daaa!…here it is! I am adding mine to my back door for a little splash of color to greet my special back door friends! Here, I have to add that when my little three-year-old grandson spotted it, he gleefully shouted "Party hats! Can I have one?" lol So of course we had to make one with the leftovers! ;-)
And just in case you would like another summery wreath, here is my no-sew burlap rose wreath…also super easy and fun to make!
And it’s not just for Christmas…here is my sheet music wreath which was created with much the same technique as the scrapbooking paper wreath.
And another fun and very summery project with sheet music…my sheet music sailboats...which is also a good craft for the kiddos! Just a little bit of fun for finishing out the summer days!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed seeing my scrapbooking paper wreath! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants.
As usual, my staff seems to have left me to work alone. Our CEO Miss Ozzie is particularly relaxed, so I won’t disturb her!
Here’s what you will need:
- Sheets of double-sided scrapbooking paper or two sheets back to back. I found Walmart to be an inexpensive source for the thinner paper that I needed. (I actually put two sheet back to back because I liked the colors better, although it would be easier to use double-sided sheets.) I used one book of 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheets and a portion of another.
- Cardboard cut into a 10 inch circle or a cake round
- Scissors
- Tape
- Hot glue gun
- Strip of burlap for the rose
- Loop of jute twine for the hanger
- Find the center of your circle by drawing two intersecting lines.
- Create approximately 24 cones in each of two sizes by rolling scrapbooking paper cut into 8 1/2 inch and then 5 1/2 inch squares and securing them with tape.
- Hot glue cones along the four lines to create a guide for the rest of the cones.
- Continue filling in with the larger cones until the outer part of the wreath is complete.
- Hot glue the smaller cones along the inside of the larger ones, always having them meet in the middle.
When the cones have all been added, complete the wreath with a burlap rose in a coordinating color. You will find a tutorial for making the rose here. Finish your wreath by hot gluing a loop of jute twine to the back.

Hello, friends! So glad you are joining us this week!
What do you call a study in a closet? Heck if I know, but I kinda just did that. It's becoming my favorite place to hide.
